The Katie Ride for Life is a cycling event in which novices to advanced riders may participate to raise funds to provide organ donor education and increase donor commitment. This year the two Rotary Clubs in Fernandina Beach are joining together to field a team of riders to support this worthwhile effort. The ride will take place April 18, 2009 on Amelia Island where this year it is sponsored by UF and Shands, Jacksonville.
The rider registration fee is $25 if received by March 15th and $30 thereafter. Each rider must also raise and/or donate at least $100 to be applied to the overall fundraising goal of the event. This fundraising minimum must be turned in before the ride begins.
Take the challange and join your fellow Rotarians on the Rotary Riders Team. You can try 30K (18 miles), 60K (36 miles), 100K (62miles) or a full 100 mile ride. For recreational riders there will be a "fun ride" of various lengthson the tree canopied rosds of Fort Clinch State Park.
