Welcome to the Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach. We welcome you to the 2009 - 2010 year of "The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands".
With over a century of successful Rotary service, Rotarians are proud to be confident of a future in which generation after generation of Rotarians will bring hope to those in need and peace to a world full of conflict. It is our responsibility to ensure that Rotary will be stronger this year than it is now, and even stronger in future years.
Rotary International President, John Kenny, has also challenged all Rotarians to help ensure the growth and future of Rotary. Eraticating polio continues to be our first and main priority. In addition, water, health, hunger, and literacy will be our emphases in the year ahead. In this Rotary year, John Kenny asks Rotarians everywhere to continue to learn from our experiences and to build upon our successes. Continue to work for the health and well-being of not only children but their families and people everywhere. Focus on water and sanitation. John states, "Rotary is only as great as its clubs - and our clubs are only as great as the members within them."
The Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach will step up to this challenge with both local and international projects.
The Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach strives each year into helping our high school seniors make their dreams real by providing a variety of college scholarships to many deserving students, this past year we provided $17,000 in scholarships. We also help promote literacy in Nassau County by providing a dictionary to every third grade student in Nassau County every year.
The Fernandina Beach club continues to raise funds to eraticate polio. We will also continue our international service by providing funds for Shelter Boxes for those in need during natural disasters.
We welcome you to join us for fun, fellowship, and service at the Rotary Club of Fernandina Beach. We meet at the Days Inn on Sadler Road, Fernandina Beach every Wednesday at noon. Please come as my guest!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Kim Harding
